Job Summary

Our Client one of the big group of companies is looking for Store Manager to one of the big Monoprix Hypermarket based in Doha Qatar


This Management position within Monoprix division will responsible in achieving the medium to long term objectives of the store:

 The main role of the Store Manager is to manage day to day operations of the store.
 Define the commercial store policy and organization.
 He implements the tools to achieve and reports regarding results to the general direction. He determined in agreement with it.
 The autonomy he has and the extension of his responsibilities, differ according to the store size and style of delivery in which he works.
 He is often delegating its powers to employees with whom he works and he spends more time in control of the sales floor and framing.
 He must have knowledge of accounting, recruitment, training and motivation of staff and even loading bays and receipt of goods.
 He must identify resources needed to achieve the objectives and projected budgets.
 Analyse any differences daily (turnover, margin) by department and final operating accounts.
 Implement the national advertising and promotion or develop those under the local level.


As store manager, the position needs to deal with the complex regulatory environment and dynamic socio-cultural- political environment. The position will need to deal with uncertain legal, tax and financial environment and will act as the lead contact for customers, suppliers and regulatory authority.


The store manager will have the authority to make operations related decisions which will positively improve efficiencies and quality, however will need to confer with the General manager on any such decisions related to retail business strategies The store manager will have to ensure that store adhere to compliance requirements in all areas of operational activity, company policies and procedures.

Directly reporting to the General Manager of Monoprix Division.


 Bachelor’s Degree Required
 Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive responsibility in retail store operation with successful multi-unit specially responsibility  Must have on in-depth understanding of the market
 Revenue and profit making orientation
 Must be able to identify and resolves problem in a timely manner
 Can speak English, French and Arabic if possible.


Key tasks:

 Establish close relationship with key customers, especially with Royal Protocol and VIP clients. Act as the high level contact with key clients, and become their trusted consultant and advisor for product related matters.
 Create new value for clients to meet their unexpressed needs through innovative approaches in merchandise display, product range and costing of goods.
 Develop good relationship with senior and mid-level management of suppliers for negotiations OTIF of orders.

Work closely with the department heads to achieve set targets of the store
 Creating an environment where diverse people can work creatively and productively together. Coach sectional teams on ways of engaging effectively with different cultures and styles.
 Identify strengths and weaknesses of employees and leverage on strengths and deal with the weaknesses providing opportunities to develop.
 This involve interaction with management, participates in selection of new staff
 Developing in time high level of service quality, safety, and hygiene, while organizing the commercial life of the store which he is responsible.

Analyse market trend and sales information of competitors to devise procurement and stock strategy.
 Analysing competitor intelligent gathered for better suppliers and pricing of products
 Analyse Brand performances for negotiations with suppliers for price, credit and other commercial terms
 Analyse financial performances and take corrective action for the entire store
 Analyse the store performance (Sales, Margin, and Profit) and provide feedback, guidance, training and encouragement in order to impacts results.
 To identify underperforming section and develop a business plan to address and manage issues effectively.

Actively identifies innovative methods to increase sales efficiencies and quality to maximise profits of the store
 Use innovative approach in reaching key customers and capturing market share of the store in Qatar
 Helps creating a performance driven culture by using KPIs and monitoring it on quarterly.

 To achieve area sales target
 Enforce the concept of Monoprix
 Enforce the policies and procedure of the company.
 To achieve stock control targets in line with the company guideline to prevent financial loss
 Drives highest possible standards of in store visual impact
 Monitoring the competition
 Recruit and manage the members of his team to the best customer satisfaction and fulfilment of its employees.

 Participates in business reviews with key stake holders including GM and owners of the business
 Provides inputs into the long terms strategic plans of the division by understanding the changes in the industry dynamics
 Translates agreed short and medium term strategic objectives into operational objectives and ensure that line is fully informed and KPI are set and monitored to achieve these objectives

Salary is Negotiable.

Preferred nationalities are Europeans, German, Italian, Portuguese, French with Background Hypermarket experience.
